Marketing Manager/Business Developer

The Business Developer/Marketing Manager will the lead point in developing a marketing strategy and building market linkages for Varanasi Weavers and Artisans Society (VWAS). He/ She will be developing, planning and directing and overseeing the operations and financial health of the business.  He/She will be responsible to achieve the sales targets to work towards building a strong VWAS brand in coordination with the Core Committee members and the team in the society. The following roles and responsibilities are undersigned for the position.

Job Location – Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh)

As a leader-

  • Coaching and developing existing team members.
  • One-on-one or group interactions with the team, focused on operations.
  • Bringing staff performance problems to the Board’s notice.
  • Conducting timely performance evaluations of self and the team.
  • Monitoring performance and initiating action to strengthen results.

Marketing related-

  • Planning marketing strategy and goal-setting for sales.
  • Develop pricing strategies for products, balancing organisation’s objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of organisation objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
  • Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
  • Plan an annual calendar for exhibitions to attend.
  • Plan and Coordinate product designing with designers.

Vendor and client management and managing orders-

  • Relationship building with clients and customers.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Plan order execution with team & core committee based on Purchase Orders.
  • Coordinate with the team for sampling of products, production of orders and dispatch of orders.
  • Plan and prepare logistics and dispatch documents for orders.
  • Follow up advance payments and final payments.

Finance related-

  • Monitoring and controlling business expenses and budgets with the team based on sales and performance. Planning marketing and promotion budgets.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Should be an MBA in Marketing/Retail Management or Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Merchandizing, Fashion/Craft & Design Management or any related field with at least 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred working experience in the social sector/online Marketing.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Should be a team player.
  • Should have leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.

Computer skills: Excellent knowledge of MS Office

Language skills:  English and Hindi.

Marketing Specialist

AIACA is inviting applications for a Marketing Specialist. The person will be based in Delhi.  The Specialist is expected to undertake the following duties:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Increase market share of Craftmark members in retail and export market.
  • Generate new leads.
  • Execute, generate and manage production orders for exports, domestic retail and any other order, e commerce. Coordinate and ensure product quality, timely deliveries and fair pricing.
  • Make annual marketing business plans and calendar.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Both with foreign and domestic buyers coordinating on existing orders and generating new orders.
  • Coordinating and implementing all exhibitions and fairs: Abroad and Domestic.
  • Interact with groups from time to time to identify opportunities and gaps.
  • Give feedback to member groups on market trends and forecasts.
  • Tracking and reporting market (customer) & competitor information, including market feedback.
  • Development of marketing collaterals.
  • Active involvement and contribution in all product development workshops with groups and interaction with designers.
  • Develop and suggest new products to groups based on need.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Merchandizing, Fashion/Craft & Design Management or any related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience in the area of exports, merchandizing and client servicing including end to end servicing such as – buyer interest response, new product sampling, raising purchase orders, order fulfillment, export logistics etc.
  • Experience in working with international buyers.
  • Team player with a cooperative, positive attitude and willingness to take new tasks and challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, excellent communication skills, follow through and excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to craft clusters.
  • Previous experience in the craft’s sector is preferred.

Computer skills: Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Preferable: Adobe/CorelDraw

Language skills: Fluent in English and Hindi.

Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
