Karunakar holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi and has worked as an intern with prestigious organizations like All India Radio, Doordarshan, National Geographic, NewsX, HIV/AIDS Alliance, Umeed, LGBTQIA oriented organizations like Harmless Hugs, Impulse and Indian Aces.

He has a deep sense of giving back to society, which got him to volunteer for several social causes alongside his education and he has more than three years’ of experience working as a communication officer and was the last part of Oxfam India.
