J&K govt submits proposal of setting up 4 CPCs to Centre

Jammu and Kashmir government has submitted a proposal to set up four carpet production centres in the state, to the Centre. A proposal for setting up four mega Carpet Production Centres (CPC) in crafts-concentrated areas in Jammu and Kashmir has been submitted to the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The proposal has been made for setting up of these CPCs in Baramulla, Anantnag, Srinagar and Budgam districts of the Kashmir Valley at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore each.

The SWITCH- Asia project, funded by the European Commission, seeks to promote sustainable production (i.e. development of less polluting and resource efficient products and processes) and sustainable consumption patterns in the crafts and textile industry in India through awareness raising, capacity building and policy research.
